Hoje, traduzi e publiquei

Desde há já vários anos, todas as manhãs ao levantar-me, encontro ao abrir o meu computador uma mensagem recenseando as violências do exército israelita, feita na base das estatísticas do Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG). E todas as manhãs pergunto-me o que devo fazer. Traduzir e publicar? Para quê? Mortes, feridos, detenções na Palestina? Ainda esta noite, Israel bombardeou o bairro de el Zaytoun. Os seus F16 acordaram os habitantes de Gaza a dúzias de quilómetros à volta. Contava-se esta manhã mais de 30 feridos, entre os quais crianças e mulheres. Os palestinianos conseguiram destruir um veículo militar que atacava terras e agricultores palestinianos não longe da fronteira.

Tudo isto tornou-se tão rotineiro que poucas pessoas se dão ao trabalho de ler. Então, a maior parte das vezes, eu zapo. Com um forte sentimento de culpabilidade perante aqueles que fizeram o esforço de nos escrever noite após noite. Deixo as suas mensagens soterradas no meio de outros emails. Para quê traduzi-las e publicá-las, se não para nos encher de um sentimento de ira e de impotência?

Mas é aí que devemos mudar de estado de espírito e despertar: não somos impotentes. A nossa impotência perante o curso dos acontecimentos no mundo, é o que a lavagem dos cérebros, exercida de manhã, de tarde e à noite pelo poder e os seus meios de comunicação social às ordens, tenta fazer-nos engolir.

Na realidade, somos poderosos. Basta unir-nos e dizer NÃO. O povo tunisino, o povo egípcio, acabam de demonstrá-lo. A impunidade israelita não será eterna se assim o decidirmos. Se recusarmos continuar a andar nas estreitas vias lamacentas desenhadas por outros para manter os enormes lucros de alguns em detrimento da grande massa, temos os meios de mudar a situação. E o que ganhamos em não reagir, em encaixar, dia após dia? Uma vida cada vez mais sórdida, desesperante, nomeadamente para os mais jovens?

À espera do levantamento que nos levará a tomar as coisas nas nossas mãos, a deixar de acreditar que podemos mudar o nosso destino indo votar “bem”, ou que não podemos mudá-lo, agarremos pelo menos o instrumento do boicote contra este Estado criminoso, sanguinário, terrorista.

Hoje, traduzirei portanto esta mensagem, este SOS de cada noite, este relatório, símbolo da resistência palestiniana que, dia após dia, apela a que não baixemos os braços, a reagirmos face a esta terrível perseguição do povo palestiniano que dura há décadas.

Ela começa todos os dias por estas frases:

"Enquanto que com a ocupação o bloqueio é um business normal para Israel, deveríamos parar qualquer business com Israel!

Nas últimas 24 horas: no dia 23 de Fevereiro (não contando o balanço desta manhã):

• Khan Younis (sul da faixa de Gaza): Israel abre fogo sobre as quintas e casas próximas da linha verde.
• Um aldeão assassinado perto de Jerusalém.
• Incursão israelita: colheitas arrasadas por bulldozers.
• Raid contra a aldeia de Qatanna: 2 rapazes de 15 e 17 anos feridos.
• As tropas de ocupação destroem uma estação de gasolina.
• As tropas israelitas desenraízam mais de 200 oliveiras e espancam um trabalhador.
• Soldados israelitas raptam uma criança de 14 anos.
• Colonos atiram pedras sobre casas e espancam os seus moradores.
• Fanáticos sionistas incendeiam veículos numa aldeia.
• Incursão de noite e invasão do exército em 17 vilas e aldeias.
• 3 ataques – 37 raids – 3 espancamentos – 5 feridos.
• 12 palestinianos presos – 15 detidos – 92 restrições da liberdade de circulação.

• Attack : Jerusalem – 22:10, Israeli troops raided the neighbourhood of Silwan, firing rubber-coated bullets and stun and tear gas grenades at people in the streets.
• Raid – injuries : Jerusalem – 18:00, the Israeli Army raided the village of Qatanna, patrolling the streets and injuring two youngsters : 15-year-old Muhammad Mahmoud Taha and 17-year-old Muhammad Adnan Shamsneh. Raid – economic sabotage : Jerusalem – 00:30, Israeli troops raided the village of Hizma, stormed two petrol stations, destroying and then removing the petrol pumps.
• In the village of Kafr Aqab, Husam Hussein ar Ruweidhi, died in hospital following an assault in the city by settler militants wielding sharp-bladed tools.
• Raid : Tulkarem – 11:00, the Israeli Army raided the neighbourhood of Irtah, detaining and interrogating a resident, Naseem Abu Rabi’, regarding the local economy. The soldiers also left orders for a person to report to Israeli Military Intelligence.
• Raid : Nablus – 10:40, the Israeli Army detained a number of children while raiding and patrolling the village of Talluza. Raid : Nablus – 13:00, Occupation troops raided the village of Salim and took prisoner a member of the village council.
• Raid : Jericho – 09:10, the Israeli Army raided the city and the Aqbat Jabir refugee camp, photographing the streets and archaeological sites.
• Raid – beating – injury – agricultural sabotage : Bethlehem – 10:10, the Israeli Army raided the village of Al Jab’a, uprooted about 250 olive trees and beat up a villager, Muhammad Ali Abdulmajeed Hamdan.
• Raid – beating – destruction of homes and water tanks : Hebron – the Israeli Army raided the village of Sossia, destroyed five tents – the homes of Mahmoud Ahmad Muhammad Jabbur, Issa Hussein Jabbur, Muhammad Hasan Muhammad Jabbur, Khamis Ahmad Muhammad Jabbur and Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Jabbur. Israeli Occupation troops also destroyed two rainwater tanks.
• Raid – abduction : Hebron – 02:00, the Israeli Army abducted a 14-year-old boy, Muhammad Jamal Khalil Abu Hashem, during a raid on the town of Beit Ummar. Note : Muhammad is the tenth 14-year-old abducted by Israeli Occupation soldiers this year.
• Property violation : Qalqilya – 15:50, the Israeli Army ordered a resident, Ahmad Abu Hamed, not to proceed with any construction work on his land. Hamed is accused of allowing his land to be used by a British organisation specialising in animal welfare.
• Occupation settler violence : Nablus – 18:00, a mob from the settlement of Bracha attacked the outskirts of the village of Burin, stoning houses and severely beating up two residents : Ahmad Sameer Obaid and Fares Nassar.
